This is it, my final project for Fundamentals of Design.

I was actually inspired by the logo of our jujitsu dojo that, sadly, closed down about a year or so ago.

there's a lot of symbolism in this, first the tiger. The tiger is physical, hence the kanji in the upper-right corner meaning body, and therefore coresponds to the yang (white) site of the Yin yang, the side that represents all thing hot, bright physical, and masculine, this point is driven home by the warm colors of the tiger.
The dragon, in comparison is spiritual/mental, hence the kanji for spirit in the lower-left corner, and so it corespnds to te yin (black) side, standing for all things cool, dull, spiritual/mental, and feminine, this, of course, is why the dragon is colored in blue, a cool color.
in the old philosopies (sp?) these two entites are in a constant struggle for dominence. And that's the concept, now I never want to hear the words 'old' or 'cheesy' used around these figures again.

Anyways, there were quite a few objectives but I'll just give the main point here, we were to use color to create a focal point, which hopefully is accomplished, since they are the only two areas of color on the composition.

Enjoy!

I love the coloring and the glowing ying yang really adds attraction to this.
